1. Introduction

 

The protection of your personal data that you provide to NEP when you visit this website, is for NEP the highest priority. This Policy provides you with all the information on how NEP will process your personal data.

 

Under no circumstances will your personal data be sold, leased or released in any other commercial manner.

 

Please note that NEP cannot guarantee the availability of and are not responsible for the content of external websites.

 

2. Definitions

 

"NEP" refer to the company of Northern Electric Power Technology (Netherlands) B.V.  , registered at the following address: Margriet Toren, Haaksbergweg 75, Unit 9.1 WS21, 1101 Amsterdam, Netherlands

 

"Visitors" refer to the users of our website, to whom this Privacy Policy applies. We may refer to visitors herein with "you" and "your".

 

"Website" refers to the address of  www.eu.northernep.comand its sub-pages.

 

"Software" refers to our web application provided under the sub-domain of www.eu.northernep.com.

 

3. How we collect and use your data

 

We process your data solely on the basis of the legal provisions [Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).

 

3.1 Information we collect when you visit our Website

 

Visitors can use the website without registering and without disclosing personal details. Only the data shared by the user’s internet provider is collected, i.e. the user’s IP address.

 

When you view our website, we collect and log certain events in our server access and error logs. This usually includes a description of an interaction, such as a failed attempt to access a certain page, and is attributed to your IP address. This data is collected by the internal logging systems on our web server.

 

Additionally, when you visit our Website, we process information about your interactions with our Website. The purpose of this data collection is to gain an understanding of our visitors and how they behave on our Website. This gives us useful insights, ranging from what content appears to be read most frequently, to which menu options are clicked. By collecting this information, we can continually work to improve our Website content and optimise our user experience for our Visitors.

 

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest to prevent malicious attacks on our servers and to understand how visitors interact with our website, to then offer the best content and user experience possible.

 

The data we collect includes:

·                  Device type, such as desktop or smartphone

·                  Geographic location, obtained from the IP address

·                  Language preference

·                  Mouse events, such as movements and clicks on navigation links

·                  Pages visited and time spent on each page

 

This data is collected by our internal logging systems, as well as Google Analytics (See section 5.1). Internal access and error log records are deleted after 1 month. Analytics data stored by Google Analytics are deleted after 26 months.

 

3.2 Information we collect when you contact us via our contact form, e-mail or telephone ("Enquiry data")

 

When you contact us via a contact form on our website, via e-mail or via telephone, we will process information you provide us for the purpose of providing services to you and contacting you regarding your enquiry, whether this be answering initial enquiries regarding our software or providing after-sales support.

 

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest to provide you with the service you expect after such an enquiry.

 

This enquiry data is managed within our CRM and Support Ticketing system. If you are just a Visitor of the Website of NEP and there has been no further interaction between NEP and you, then we will delete this Enquiry data after 2 years. This time frame allows us to trace any previous enquiries you have made, should your interest in our application arise once again.

 

4. Cookies

 

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small bits of data that are stored in the user’s web browser or on the user’s computer system by the web browser. Cookies usually contain a unique identification number, enabling the identification of the browser when a user revisits the website. NEP uses cookies to make our websites more user-friendly.

 

Cookies usually do not contain information which you would deem important or sensitive, such as contact information or credit card details. However, even though the unique identification number in a cookie can be up to 128 random letters and numbers, this is still an identification number which is unique to you until it expires. As a result, it’s important that NEP looks after it and tell you what cookies NEP uses.

 

When using cookies with personal data, NEP obtain the user’s active consent beforehand via the cookie banner.

· Right to restriction of processing (Art 18 of the GDPR): Furthermore, in the cases listed in Art 18 of the GDPR (e.g. inaccuracy of the processed personal data, unlawfulness of processing), you have the right to request the restriction of processing by NEP.

· Right to data portability (Art 20 of the GDPR): You have the right to obtain the relevant personal data that you have provided to NEP in a structured and commonly used format and to request that NEP transfers this data to another controller.

· Right to object (Art 21 of the GDPR): You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data that is processed in relation to this website.

Withdrawal of declarations of consent (Art 7 of the GDPR): You have the option of withdrawing any consent previously granted to NEP at any time.

6. Changes to these privacy Policy

 

In order to comply with the latest laws or judicature, these data protection provisions may be updated periodically in order to protect the user’s personal data. Users should look over the data protection provisions from time to time, in order to keep up to date with how NEP protects the user’s data and constantly improves the content of the website. Should NEP make any fundamental changes to the collection, use and/or disclosure of the personal data provided to NEP by users, NEP will inform users of this in the form of a clear and prominent notice on its website. By using the website, you are declaring your consent to the conditions of these guidelines for protecting personal data.
